If you are traveling by car, start from the main road in Vatnajokull National Park, Route 1 (the Ring Road). Head towards Egilsstaðir and take Route 92 towards Jökuldalur. Continue on Jökuldalsvegur (Route 923) until you reach the coordinates 65.1639° N, 15.3119° W. Look for signs for Stuðlagil Canyon Main Access. There are two parking lots available; the second one is closer to the canyon. Be cautious of road conditions, especially during winter.

If you are using public transportation, take a bus from Reykjavik to Egilsstaðir (check for schedules with local bus services like Sterna or Strætó). From Egilsstaðir, you will need to arrange for a taxi or a local shuttle service to take you to Jökuldalsvegur (Route 923). Make sure to confirm the taxi service in advance, as options may be limited. The destination coordinates are 65.1639° N, 15.3119° W, and you can ask the driver to drop you off at the parking area for Stuðlagil Canyon Main Access.
