Walk to the Palatine Metra Station located at 137 W Wood St. Take the Union Pacific Northwest Line train towards Elgin. Disembark at the Elgin Station. From the train station, exit and head south on Grove Ave. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Grand Blvd. Turn left onto Grand Blvd and walk about 0.5 miles to the Elgin Public Museum located at 225 Grand Blvd.

If you have a bicycle, you can ride from Palatine to Elgin. Start by heading northwest on the bike path that runs parallel to the Palatine River. Follow the path until you reach the intersection with the Elgin bike routes. Continue following the bike lanes towards Grand Blvd in Elgin, and once you reach Grand Blvd, turn left and ride until you arrive at the Elgin Public Museum located at 225 Grand Blvd.

Start at the center of Palatine and head towards the northwest, following the signs for Grand Blvd. It is approximately a 5-mile walk, so allow about 1.5 to 2 hours.
