Car
If you're traveling by car, start from the center of The Calumet Region, for example, from the intersection of US-41 and IL-394. Head south on US-41 and merge onto IL-394 S. Continue on IL-394 for about 7 miles. Take the exit for IL-1 S toward Thornton. After about 2 miles, turn left onto Thornton Lansing Rd. Wampum Lake will be on your right at 598 Thornton Lansing Rd, Thornton, IL 60476. There is no entrance fee for visiting the lake.

Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take the South Shore Line train to the Thornton station. From there, you can catch the local bus (Route 367) towards Thornton. After approximately 10 minutes, disembark at the Thornton Lansing Rd stop. Wampum Lake is a short 5-minute walk from the bus stop. Head north on Thornton Lansing Rd, and you will see the entrance to Wampum Lake on your left.
