Walking
Start from the Salthill Promenade, facing the sea. Head west along the Promenade until you reach the end of the walkway. Continue straight onto the path that leads you up to the road. Once at the road, turn left onto the R336. Walk along this road for about 1.5 km until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto the N59. After about 300 meters, look for signs indicating Pigeon Hole Wood. Follow the path that leads into the woods, and you should see the entrance to Pigeon Hole Wood.

Rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in Salthill. Start your ride from the Promenade, cycling west along the waterfront. Continue past the end of the Promenade and turn left onto the R336. Cycle along the road for about 1.5 km until you reach the roundabout. Take the second exit onto the N59 and after about 300 meters, look for the signs for Pigeon Hole Wood. Follow the signs and park your bike at the entrance.

From Salthill, walk to the nearest bus stop located on the R336. Catch Bus No. 409 heading towards Galway City. Stay on the bus for about 10 minutes and get off at the stop closest to the N59. From there, walk back along the N59 for approximately 300 meters until you see the signs for Pigeon Hole Wood. Follow the signs to the entrance.
