Getting There

  • Car

    From Monte Rosa, head south on SP100 towards the town of Gattinara. Continue on this road as it becomes SP142. Follow SP142 until you reach the junction with the A26 highway. Merge onto A26 in the direction of Gravellona Toce. After about 30 km, take exit 11 for Arona. Follow signs for Orta San Giulio and continue on SP229 for approximately 15 km until you reach Orta San Giulio. Upon entering the town, follow signs to Piazza Mario Motta where Lago d'Orta is located. Be aware that parking in the area may incur a fee, typically around €1-2 per hour.

  • Public Transportation

    From Monte Rosa, take a regional train from the nearest station (for instance, Alagna Valsesia). You'll want to head towards Novara. Once you arrive at Novara station, transfer to a train heading to Orta-Miasino. The train ride from Novara to Orta-Miasino will take around 30 minutes. After arriving at Orta-Miasino, it's a scenic 20-minute walk to Lago d'Orta via Via Roma and then following signs to Piazza Mario Motta.
