Getting There

  • Public Transport

    Start your journey from Hakata Station, which is the main train station in Fukuoka. Take the Kuko Line (Airport Line) towards Meinohama and get off at Tenjin Station. From Tenjin, transfer to the Nishitetsu Bus at the Tenjin Bus Center. Look for the bus heading towards Shikashima; the bus number is '300'. After approximately 30 minutes, get off at the 'Shikashima' bus stop. From there, walk approximately 10 minutes northeast along the road, and you will find Soumu Temple at 813 Shikashima, Higashi Ward.

    If you are staying close to the Fukuoka Tower area, you can take a leisurely walk to Soumu Temple. Start from Fukuoka Tower and head east towards the coast. Walk along the beach promenade until you reach the intersection at the main road. Turn right and continue walking north until you reach Shikashima. The temple is located on the left-hand side at 813 Shikashima, Higashi Ward. This walk will take approximately 40 minutes but offers beautiful views along the coast.
