Car
If you are driving from Hakone, take Route 1 (National Route 1) towards Kamakura. Follow the signs for Kamakura, and after about a 30-minute drive, take the exit towards Kamakura Station. Continue on Route 204, and follow the signs to Hokokuji, which is located at 2 Chome-7-4 Jomyoji, Kamakura. There is parking available near the temple, but it can fill up quickly, so arrive early. Note that parking fees may apply.

To reach Hokokuji Bamboo Forest via public transportation, start by taking the Hakone Tozan Railway from Hakone-Yumoto Station to Odawara Station. From Odawara Station, transfer to the JR Tokaido Line heading towards Atami and get off at Kamakura Station. At Kamakura Station, take the Enoshima Electric Railway (Enoden) towards Fujisawa. Get off at Jomyoji Station, which is a short walk from the Hokokuji Bamboo Forest. This entire journey should take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, and costs around 1,500 yen, including train fares.

Another option is to take a bus from Hakone. You can take the Hakone Tozan Bus to Hakone-Yumoto Station, then transfer to a bus towards Kamakura.
