If you're driving from Hakone, take National Route 1 (also known as the Tōmei Expressway) towards Odawara. After approximately 15 minutes, you will reach a fork; take the exit towards Hakone. Continue on Route 1 until you reach the Hakone area. Follow signs for Motohakone, and you will eventually see signs for Mt. Hakone.
