Car
If you're driving from Hakone, take National Route 1 (also known as the Tōmei Expressway) towards Odawara. After approximately 15 minutes, you will reach a fork; take the exit towards Hakone. Continue on Route 1 until you reach the Hakone area. Follow signs for Motohakone, and you will eventually see signs for Mt. Hakone. Parking is available at the base, but be aware that some areas may require a small fee (around ¥500-¥1000 per day).

Public Transportation - Bus
From Hakone-Yumoto Station, take the Hakone Tozan Bus towards Motohakone. The bus ride takes approximately 40 minutes. Be sure to check the bus schedule in advance, as services may vary. Once you arrive at Motohakone, follow the signs to the Mt. Hakone trailhead, which is about a 15-minute walk from the bus stop.

Public Transportation - Train and Cable Car
Begin your journey at Hakone-Yumoto Station. Take the Hakone Tozan Railway to Gora Station. From Gora, transfer to the Hakone Tozan Cable Car, which will take you up to Sounzan Station. At Sounzan, switch to the Hakone Ropeway, which offers stunning views as it takes you to Owakudani Station. From Owakudani, follow the signs to Mt. Hakone. The entire trip may take around 1.5 to 2 hours, and you should purchase a Hakone Free Pass for around ¥4,000, which covers the train, cable car, and ropeway costs.
