Car
If you're driving, head towards the Hakone area via National Route 1. Once in Hakone, follow the signs to Lake Ashi (Ashi-ko). As you approach the lake, you will want to take a left onto Route 732. Continue on Route 732 for about 10 minutes until you reach the entrance to Motohakone. The shrine is located at 80-1 Motohakone, which should be well marked. Parking is available near the shrine, but be aware that there may be a small fee for parking.

Public Transportation
From Hakone-Yumoto Station, take the Hakone Tozan Railway to Gora Station. Transfer to the Hakone Tozan Cable Car and ride it to Sounzan Station. Here, take the Hakone Ropeway to Togendai Station. At Togendai, board a sightseeing boat on Lake Ashi and disembark at Motohakone. The shrine is a short walk from the boat dock, approximately 10 minutes. Keep an eye out for signs directing you to Hakone Mototsumiya Shrine. The total cost for this route will vary depending on the specific tickets you purchase, but expect to pay around ¥2000-¥3000 for the whole journey.

From Hakone-Yumoto Station, you can also take a bus directly to Motohakone. Look for the bus service operated by Hakone Tozan Bus that goes towards Motohakone. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Be sure to check the bus schedule since services may vary, especially in the off-peak season. The fare is approximately ¥1,000. Once you arrive at the Motohakone bus stop, the shrine is a short 5-minute walk away.
