If you are driving to Sanmon Gate, set your GPS to '11 Hase, Kamakura, Kanagawa 248-0016'. From Hakone, take Route 1 towards Odawara. Continue on Route 1 until you reach the Kamakura area. Follow signs for Kamakura and then for Hase. Once you arrive in Hase, look for parking options nearby, as street parking may be limited. There are some paid parking lots available within walking distance to Sanmon Gate.

Train
To reach Sanmon Gate via public transportation, take the Odakyu Line from Hakone-Yumoto Station to Odawara Station. At Odawara Station, transfer to the JR Tokaido Line heading towards Tokyo and get off at Kamakura Station. From Kamakura Station, take the Enoden Line towards Hase Station. The train ride from Kamakura takes about 5 minutes. Once you arrive at Hase Station, it's a short 10-minute walk to Sanmon Gate. Follow the signs toward Hase-dera Temple, as Sanmon Gate is located nearby.

Alternatively, you can take a bus from Hakone to Kamakura. Board the Hakone Tozan Bus at any major bus stop in Hakone that serves routes to Odawara Station. When you reach Odawara Station, transfer to the JR Tokaido Line towards Tokyo and get off at Kamakura Station. From there, follow the same instructions as above for the Enoden Line to Hase Station, which is a 10-minute walk to Sanmon Gate.
