Getting There

  • Train

    Start your journey at Tokyo Station. From there, take the JR Yokosuka Line towards Zushi. The ride will take approximately 50 minutes. Get off at Kamakura Station. Once at Kamakura Station, exit the station and head to the East Exit. You will see a bus stop right outside.

  • Bus

    At the bus stop outside Kamakura Station, take the Enoshima Dentetsu bus number 23 or 24 towards Gokurakuji. The bus ride lasts about 10 minutes. Get off at the Gokurakuji bus stop. Once you disembark, walk straight for about 5 minutes until you reach Joju-in, which is located at 1 Chome-1-5 Gokurakuji.

    From Gokurakuji bus stop, you will walk towards the temple. Continue straight along the road, passing by local shops and cafes. You will find Joju-in on your right at the address 1 Chome-1-5 Gokurakuji. It’s a small and serene Buddhist temple, perfect for a peaceful visit.
