Getting There

    From Hakone, take the Odawara-Atsugi Road (Route 1) towards Kamakura. Follow the signs for Kamakura and exit onto Route 134. Continue on Route 134 and follow the signs for Hase. Benten Cave is located at 3 Chome-10-9 Hase, Kamakura, Kanagawa 248-0016. Parking may be available nearby, but be aware of any parking fees that may apply.

  • Train

    From Hakone Yumoto Station, take the Hakone Tozan Railway to Gora Station. At Gora Station, transfer to the Tozan Cable Car and ride to Sounzan Station. From Sounzan Station, take the Ropeway to Togendai Station. At Togendai, board the Hakone Sightseeing Cruise on Lake Ashi and ride to Hakone-machi. Finally, take the Odakyu Line from Hakone-machi to Kamakura Station (approximately 1 hour). From Kamakura Station, take the Enoden Line to Hase Station. Benten Cave is a short walk from Hase Station, approximately 10 minutes. Keep in mind that train fares may vary, but expect around 1,800 - 2,500 JPY total for this route.

    From Hakone, take the Hakone Tozan Bus (bound for Kamakura) from the Hakone-Yumoto bus station. The bus ride will take about 40 minutes to reach Kamakura Station. Once at Kamakura Station, transfer to the Enoden Line and take the train to Hase Station. Benten Cave is a 10-minute walk from Hase Station. The bus fare from Hakone to Kamakura is approximately 1,000 JPY.
