Getting There

  • Car

    If you're traveling by car, start from the center of Hida. Head northwest on Route 158 towards Takayama. After approximately 15 minutes, turn left onto Route 41. Continue for about 5 minutes until you reach a roundabout. Take the second exit onto Sowamachi Street. Hida Kokubun-ji will be on your left at 1 Chome-83 Sowamachi, Takayama, Gifu 506-0007. There is usually parking available nearby.

    To reach Hida Kokubun-ji via public transport, start by taking the Hida Limited Express train from Hida to Takayama Station. The ride takes about 30 minutes. From Takayama Station, exit and walk to the bus terminal located next to the station. Take the local bus heading towards the Takayama Nohi Bus Terminal. After about 5 minutes, get off at the 'Sowamachi' stop. Hida Kokubun-ji is a short 5-minute walk from the bus stop; head east on Sowamachi Street, and you will find it at 1 Chome-83 Sowamachi.
