Getting There

  • Car

    From the Hiroshima countryside, take Route 2 towards Hiroshima City. Follow the signs for Hiroshima and stay on Route 2 for about 30 km. As you approach the city, continue on the road until you reach the intersection with Heiwa Odori. Turn right onto Heiwa Odori and follow this road for about 2 km. You will see signs for Shukkeien Garden. Turn left onto Kaminoboricho. The garden will be on your left at 2-11 Kaminoboricho, Naka Ward, Hiroshima. Parking is available near the garden but may incur a cost of around 500 yen per hour.

  • Public Transportation - Train

    From any location in the Hiroshima countryside, make your way to the nearest JR train station and take a train towards Hiroshima Station. The journey will take approximately 30 to 60 minutes depending on your starting point. Once you arrive at Hiroshima Station, exit the station and head to the tram station located just outside. Take the Hiroshima Electric Railway (tram) Line 1 or Line 2 towards 'Eba' or 'Hiroden-nishi' respectively. Get off at the 'Shukkeien-mae' stop. The garden is just a short walk from the tram stop, approximately 5 minutes. The tram ride will cost around 200 yen.
