Car
If you're driving from central Hitachi, head south on Route 6 towards Mito. Continue on Route 6 for about 30 kilometers and then merge onto the Joban Expressway (E6) towards Tokyo. After approximately 100 kilometers, take the exit for Ueno. Follow signs for the Shinjuku area and continue onto Route 14. Finally, follow signs for Sumida City, and you'll find the Japanese Sword Museum at 1 Chome-12-9 Yokoami, Sumida City, Tokyo 130-0015. Please note that there are tolls on the expressway, which can cost around ¥2,000 to ¥3,000 depending on your entry and exit points.

Public Transportation
To reach the Japanese Sword Museum using public transportation, start at Hitachi Station. Take the Joban Line train towards Ueno. It will take around 1 hour and 30 minutes, and the fare is approximately ¥2,500. Once you arrive at Ueno Station, transfer to the Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line and head towards Kodemmacho Station. Get off at the Kodemmacho Station and transfer to the Toei Asakusa Line. Take the train towards Oshiage and get off at the Kuramae Station. From there, it's a short 10-minute walk to the museum located at 1 Chome-12-9 Yokoami, Sumida City, Tokyo 130-0015.
