Car
If you are driving, start from the center of Hitachi city. Head south on Route 6 towards Mito. After approximately 70 kilometers, take the exit towards Sumida City. Follow the signs for Yokoami and continue for about 3 kilometers until you reach the Sumō Museum, located at 〒130-0015 Tokyo, Sumida City, Yokoami, 1 Chome−3−28, within the Ryōgoku Kokugikan. Parking is available nearby but may incur a fee.

To reach the Sumō Museum using public transportation, take the Hitachi Line from Hitachi Station to Mito Station. At Mito Station, transfer to the Joban Line and head towards Ueno Station. Get off at Ryōgoku Station. From there, it is a 10-minute walk to the museum. Exit the station and head towards the Ryōgoku Kokugikan, following the signs for Yokoami. The museum is located at 〒130-0015 Tokyo, Sumida City, Yokoami, 1 Chome−3−28. A one-way ticket from Hitachi to Ryōgoku will cost approximately ¥1,500.

If you prefer to travel by bus, take the Hitachi bus service from Hitachi City to Tokyo. You need to get off at the Ryōgoku stop. The bus ride will take around 1.5 to 2 hours depending on traffic. Once you get off, the Sumō Museum is about a 5-minute walk. Follow the signs to Ryōgoku Kokugikan, and you will find the museum at 〒130-0015 Tokyo, Sumida City, Yokoami, 1 Chome−3−28. The bus fare is approximately ¥2,000.
