From Hitachi, take the Joban Expressway (E6) heading towards Tokyo. The drive will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours depending on traffic. Once you reach the outskirts of Tokyo, merge onto the Shuto Expressway (C1) and follow signs for the Sumida River area. Exit at Ryogoku and follow signs for the Ryogoku Landing Fields. There is limited parking available near the landing fields, so be prepared to find a nearby parking garage if necessary.

Start at Hitachi Station and take the JR Joban Line heading towards Ueno. Transfer at Ueno Station to the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line and travel to Asakusa Station. From Asakusa, transfer to the Toei Asakusa Line and ride to Oshiage (Skytree) Station. Finally, transfer to the Toei Oedo Line and ride to Ryogoku Station. The total travel time will be about 1.5 hours. Once you arrive at Ryogoku Station, exit the station and walk about 10 minutes towards the waterfront to reach Ryogoku Landing Fields.

Catch a local bus from Hitachi to Mito Station, which takes about 40 minutes. From Mito Station, take the JR Joban Line to Ueno Station. At Ueno, transfer to the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line towards Asakusa. From Asakusa, transfer to the Toei Asakusa Line and travel to Oshiage Station. Finally, switch to the Toei Oedo Line to Ryogoku Station. Total travel time will be approximately 2 hours. After exiting Ryogoku Station, the Ryogoku Landing Fields are about a 10-minute walk.
