Car
If you're driving from central Hitachi, head southeast on Route 6. Follow the signs for Joban Expressway (常磐自動車道) and take the expressway towards Tokyo. After approximately 130 km, take the exit for Route 6 towards Ueno/Tokyo. Continue to follow Route 6, which will lead you into Sumida City. Once in the city, use a GPS or map app to navigate to 'Tsutsumidori, 2 Chome, Sumida City' where Shirahige Bridge is located. Parking options may be limited, so look for nearby parking lots once you arrive.

Public Transportation
From Hitachi Station, take the JR Joban Line to Ueno Station. This train ride will take approximately 1.5 hours. Once you arrive at Ueno Station, transfer to the Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line and take the train towards Nakameguro. Get off at Iriya Station, which is 2 stops away. From Iriya Station, exit and walk east towards the Sumida River. The walk will take about 15-20 minutes. Follow the riverbank until you reach Shirahige Bridge, located at Tsutsumidori, 2 Chome. Keep an eye out for signs directing you to the bridge.
