Getting There

  • Car

    If you're driving from Izu, take Route 135 towards Atami. Follow the signs for Atami and continue until you reach the city center. The Ooyu Geyser is located at 4-3 Kamijukucho, Atami, Shizuoka 413-0018. Once you arrive in Atami, park at one of the nearby public parking facilities, such as Atami City Parking (Atami-shi Chuo Parking) or any other available lot. The geyser is within walking distance from the parking area.

  • Train

    If you're using public transportation, take the JR Tokaido Line from any station in Izu towards Atami Station. The train ride from Izu can take approximately 30-60 minutes depending on your starting point. Upon arrival at Atami Station, exit the station and follow the signs to the east exit. From there, you can either walk (approximately 15-20 minutes) or take a local bus towards the city center. If you choose to walk, head south on Route 135 and then turn left onto Kamijukucho Street. The Ooyu Geyser will be on your right at 4-3 Kamijukucho.

    If you prefer to use the bus, from Atami Station, board a local bus heading towards Kamijukucho. The bus ride will take about 10 minutes. Make sure to get off at the Kamijukucho stop, which is the closest stop to the Ooyu Geyser. From the bus stop, it's just a short 5-minute walk to the geyser.
