Getting There

    If you're driving from Kai, take Route 20 south towards Kofu. Merge onto the Chuo Expressway (E20) heading towards Yokohama. Continue on the expressway for approximately 70 km, then take the exit towards Yokosuka. Follow the signs to Yokosuka and then to Sarushima Island. You will need to park at the Yokosuka Naval Base area; parking fees may apply, usually around 500 yen. After parking, head to the Sarushima ferry terminal.

    From Kai, take the JR Chuo Line from Kofu Station to Hachioji Station, then transfer to the JR Yokohama Line towards Hachioji. Change at Yokohama Station for the JR Negishi Line towards Ofuna, and then get off at Yokosuka Station. From Yokosuka Station, take a local bus to the Sarushima ferry terminal. The ferry ride to Sarushima Island costs around 1,000 yen round trip. The ferry departs regularly, but check the schedule ahead of your visit.
