Getting There

  • Public Transportation

    From Kyoto Station, take the Karasuma Subway Line (the green line) towards Kokusaikaikan. Get off at Marutamachi Station (about 15 minutes). From Marutamachi Station, exit the station and head north on Marutamachi Street. After approximately 10 minutes of walking, turn left onto Mizomaecho Street. Continue walking straight for about 5 minutes, and you will arrive at Daihōon-ji, located at 1034 Mizomaecho, Kamigyo Ward.

    If you are near Gion, take bus number 100 or 206 from Gion bus stop. Ride for about 15 minutes and get off at the Marutamachi Bus Stop. From the bus stop, walk north along Marutamachi Street for about 10 minutes, then turn left onto Mizomaecho Street. Walk straight for around 5 minutes to reach Daihōon-ji at 1034 Mizomaecho, Kamigyo Ward.

    If you are near Nijo Castle, you can walk to Daihōon-ji. Head east from Nijo Castle towards Marutamachi Street. Walk along Marutamachi Street heading north for about 20 minutes.
