Car
If you are traveling by car, start from central Kyoto and take the Kyoto City Loop Line (Route 9) heading north. After approximately 15 minutes, take the exit toward Kitayama Dori. Continue on Kitayama Dori for about 2 kilometers. When you reach the intersection with Kinugasa Kitatenjinmoricho, turn right. Kinkakuji-yu will be on your left at 34 Kinugasa Kitatenjinmoricho. Parking is available nearby, but be aware that fees may apply.

Public Transportation
To reach Kinkakuji-yu via public transportation, first take the Kyoto City Bus from Kyoto Station. Board the bus number 204 or 205 and travel towards Kinkakuji. The bus ride will take around 30 minutes. Disembark at the Kinkakuji-michi stop. From there, it's a 10-minute walk to Kinkakuji-yu located at 34 Kinugasa Kitatenjinmoricho. Ensure you have a prepaid Suica or ICOCA card for easy travel on public transport, as well as small change for bus fare, which is approximately 230 yen.
