Getting There

  • Public Transport - Train

    If you are starting from Kyoto Station, take the JR Nara Line towards Nara and get off at Tofukuji Station (approximately 5 minutes). From Tofukuji Station, exit the station and head north. You will come across a sign for the Kamo River. Follow the signs, which will guide you towards the river.

  • Public Transport - Bus

    From Kyoto Station, take the Kyoto City Bus number 205, which will take you to 'Shijo Karasuma' (about 15 minutes). Once you arrive, walk east along Shijo Street until you reach the river. You will find Kamo River at the end of the street.

  • Walking

    If you are staying in the central area of Kyoto, you can simply walk to Kamo River. Head towards the east along the Sanjo Street. You will pass various shops and cafes, and after about a 20-minute walk, you will reach Kamo River. Look for signs indicating the river; the scenery will be beautiful as you approach.
