Getting There

  • Public Transport

    From Kyoto Station, take the Karasuma Line subway towards Kokusaikaikan and get off at Marutamachi Station. Transfer to bus number 206 or 100 at Marutamachi Station bus stop. Ride the bus for about 15 minutes and get off at Sennyuji Temple bus stop. From there, walk for about 5 minutes east on Sennyuji Yamanouchicho Street until you reach Kaikō-ji Temple, which will be on your right.

  • Walking

    If you are near Kiyomizu-dera Temple, you can walk to Kaikō-ji Temple. From Kiyomizu-dera, head down the hill towards Gojo-zaka Street. Turn left and continue to walk until you reach Sennyuji Yamanouchicho. Turn right on Sennyuji Yamanouchicho and walk straight for about 15 minutes until you arrive at Kaikō-ji Temple.

  • Public Transport

    If you are in the Gion area, walk to Gion Shijo Station. Take the Keihan Main Line towards Yodoyabashi and get off at Kiyomizu-Gojo Station. From Kiyomizu-Gojo Station, transfer to bus number 86 or 207 at the nearby bus stop. Ride the bus for about 10 minutes and get off at Sennyuji Temple bus stop. Walk for about 5 minutes east on Sennyuji Yamanouchicho until you reach Kaikō-ji Temple.
