Public Transport
If you're starting from Kyoto Station, take the Karasuma Line subway towards Kokusaikaikan. After 5 stops, get off at Shijo Station. From Shijo Station, take exit 1 and walk straight along Shijo Street towards the west. After a few minutes, you will reach the intersection with Kiyamachi Street. Turn right onto Kiyamachi Street. Continue walking for about 5 minutes until you reach the entrance of Restaurant Row Alley, also known as Pontocho Alley, which will be on your right.

If you're near Gion, head towards Shijo Street. Walk north on Hanamikoji Street until you reach Shijo Street. Turn left and walk a short distance to Kiyamachi Street. Turn right on Kiyamachi Street, and after a few minutes, you will see the entrance of Restaurant Row Alley (Pontocho) on your right. The alley is famous for its narrow pathway lined with traditional wooden buildings housing various restaurants.
