Getting There

  • Train

    If you are starting from Kyoto Station, take the JR San-in Line (also known as the JR Sagano Line) towards Sonobe. Get off at the Tōji Station, which is just one stop away. After exiting the station, turn right and walk straight for about 10 minutes. Follow the road until you reach Tōji, where the Five Story Pagoda is located.

  • Bus

    From Kyoto Station, you can also take the Kyoto City Bus. Board the bus number 206 or 208 at the bus terminal in front of the station. Stay on the bus for about 10 minutes and get off at the 'Tōji' stop. The Five Story Pagoda is just a short walk from the bus stop; follow the signs pointing to Tōji.
