Getting There

  • Walking

    From Nara Park (Nara-koen), head east towards the Naramachi area. Follow the signs to the Nara National Museum, which is located at the eastern edge of the park. Once you reach the museum, continue east on Horenji Street until you reach the intersection with Heijo-kyo Road. Cross the road and continue straight for about 500 meters. You will see the entrance to Heijo Palace Site on your left. Dainiji Daigokuden Ruins is located within the Heijo Palace Site, just a short walk from the main entrance.

    From Nara Station, take the Kintetsu Nara Line to Yamato-Saidaiji Station. The journey will take approximately 10 minutes. Once you arrive at Yamato-Saidaiji Station, exit the station and head south towards the Heijo Palace Site. It is about a 15-minute walk from the station. Follow the signs towards Heijo Palace, and you will find the Dainiji Daigokuden Ruins within the site.
