Getting there

Car

If you're driving, start from the center of Nikko, known as Nikko Station. Head east on Route 119, following the signs for the Toshogu Shrine, which is a well-known landmark. Continue on Route 119 for about 2 kilometers until you reach the intersection near the shrine. Turn left onto Sannai Street. The Karamon Gate is located within the grounds of the Rinnoji Temple, just a short distance ahead. Look for parking options near the temple entrance.

To reach Karamon Gate via public transport, start from Nikko Station and take the Tobu bus bound for 'Toshogu'. The bus ride takes approximately 10-15 minutes. Get off at the 'Toshogu' stop.
