Car
If you're driving from Tokyo, take the Tōmei Expressway (E1) towards Nagoya. Continue on the expressway for about 120 km and take the exit for Utsunomiya (Utsunomiya IC). Follow the signs for Route 119, heading towards Nikko. After approximately 30 km, you will reach Nikko. Once in Nikko, follow the signs to the city center and then to Sannai. Rin’nōji Taiyū-in is located at 2300 Sannai, which is well marked.
Public Transportation
To reach Rin’nōji Taiyū-in using public transportation, start by taking the JR Tōhoku Shinkansen from Tokyo Station to Utsunomiya Station (about 50 minutes). From Utsunomiya, transfer to the JR Nikko Line and take a train to Nikko Station (approximately 45 minutes). Upon arriving at Nikko Station, take the Tobu Bus bound for 'Rinnoji' or 'Shinkyo' and get off at the 'Rinnoji' stop. Walk approximately 5 minutes to the mausoleum, located at 2300 Sannai.
