Getting There

Car
If you are driving, start by heading south on Route 119 from the center of Nikko. Follow the signs towards the Toshogu Shrine, which is a major landmark. After about 10 minutes, you will arrive at the Toshogu Shrine entrance. Park your car in the designated parking area nearby. From the parking lot, walk towards the main entrance of the shrine. The Purification Fountain is located just inside the shrine grounds on your right-hand side.

Public Transportation
To reach the Purification Fountain by public transport, take the Tobu Nikko Line from Nikko Station. Board a train heading towards Shimo-Imaichi Station. After approximately 10 minutes, get off at the 'Toshogu' station. From the station, it’s a 15-minute walk to the Toshogu Shrine. Follow the path towards the shrine, and upon entering the grounds, you will find the Purification Fountain to your right.

Walking
If you are already near the Nikko city center, you can walk to the Purification Fountain. Head southwest on Route 119 towards the Toshogu Shrine. The walk will take around 30 minutes. As you walk, you will pass various shops and eateries. Keep following the road until you reach the entrance of the Toshogu Shrine. Upon entering, the Purification Fountain will be on your right side, just after the entrance.
