Getting There

  • Car

    If you're traveling by car, start from the center of Omi and head north on Route 17. Follow the signs for Karuizawa. Approximately 30 kilometers into your drive, you will reach Nagakura, where Tonbo-no-yu is located. Look for a sign indicating 'Tonbo-no-yu' and turn onto the road leading to it. The exact address is 2148 Nagakura, Karuizawa, Kitasaku District, Nagano 389-0111. Parking is available at the onsen, but be aware that it may have a small fee.

  • Public Transportation - Train

    To reach Tonbo-no-yu using public transportation, take a train from Omi Station to Karuizawa Station. The journey takes about 1 hour and requires a transfer at Nagano Station. Once you arrive at Karuizawa Station, take the Nagakurayama Line bus towards Nagakura (this bus runs regularly). Get off at the 'Nagakura Onsen' stop, which is a short walk from Tonbo-no-yu. The bus fare is approximately 400 yen.

The total public transport cost for the highway bus and local bus will be around 1,200 yen.
