Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving, start from central Settsu. Head towards Route 171 and follow the signs for Kyoto. Once you reach Kyoto, take the exit for Sagatenryuji. Continue on Sagatenryuji Susukinobabacho street until you reach the address 〒616-8385 Kyoto, Ukyo Ward, Sagatenryuji Susukinobabacho, 68. There is parking available near the temple, but please be aware that parking fees may apply.

  • Public Transportation

    For public transportation, begin your journey at Settsu Station. Take the JR Takarazuka Line towards Osaka and transfer at Umeda Station to the Hankyu Kyoto Line. Ride the train to Katsura Station. From Katsura Station, transfer to the Keifuku Electric Railroad and take the Randen Line to Arashiyama Station. Finally, take a bus (Kyoto City Bus) from Arashiyama to Tenryu-ji. The total travel time is approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. Be prepared for a small bus fare, which is around 210 yen.
