Getting There

  • Train

    Begin your journey at Kyoto Station. Board the JR San-In Line (also known as the JR Sagano Line) towards Saga-Arashiyama. The train ride will take approximately 15 minutes. Get off at Saga-Arashiyama Station. Once you exit the station, follow the signs to the 'Arashiyama Bamboo Grove.'

  • Walking

    After arriving at Saga-Arashiyama Station, exit the station and head towards the main road. You will see a tourist information center on your left. From there, walk straight along the main street until you reach the iconic Togetsukyo Bridge (about a 10-minute walk). Cross the bridge, and you will find the entrance to the bamboo grove just a short distance beyond the bridge. Follow the path into the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove, where you'll be surrounded by towering bamboo stalks.

  • Bus

    If you prefer to take a bus, from Kyoto Station, take bus number 28 towards 'Arashiyama.' The bus ride will take approximately 45 minutes. Get off at the 'Arashiyama' stop. From the bus stop, walk towards the Togetsukyo Bridge, which is a 5-minute walk away. Cross the bridge, and you will find the entrance to the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove shortly after.
