    From Kochi Bus Terminal, take a bus towards the 'Bishamon-guchi' bus stop. From there, walk approximately 100 meters west and then 750 meters north to reach the falls. Bus fare is around ¥400 [Japanese Yen].

    From Nankoku Interchange on the Kochi Expressway, it is about a 10-minute drive to Bishamon Falls. Parking is free and available for about 10 cars.

Bishamon Falls, nestled in Nankoku, Kochi, is a picturesque three-tiered waterfall cascading down a height of 30 meters. The falls are not only a scenic spot but also hold historical and spiritual significance. According to local lore, Kobo Daishi, a prominent Buddhist monk, arrived at Ozu port and was enticed by the sound of the waterfall. He visited the site, meditated under the falls to purify himself, and carved a statue of Bishamonten, one of the Four Heavenly Kings in Buddhism, which is now enshrined in a nearby hall. The area around Bishamon Falls is known for its tranquil atmosphere, making it an ideal destination for those seeking a respite from the hustle and bustle of city life. The waterfall's cascade creates a soothing sound, enhancing the overall sense of peace and serenity. The surrounding landscape is adorned with old-growth trees, which display vibrant colors during the autumn season, adding to the area's natural beauty. In the pond in front of the falls, you can see carps swimming peacefully. During the height of the Chosokabe Motochika era, Taki-moto Temple was located here. Two monks named Eion and Hiyu resided at the temple. Hiyu was not only a Buddhist scholar, but also well versed in the history. He was a trusted advisor to Motochika and often participated in military and political affairs.
