Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are near Ueno Park, proceed towards the main pathway leading into the park. As you walk, you will see the Tokyo National Museum signposted. Continue straight for about 10 minutes, passing by the Ueno Zoo on your left. The museum is located at 13-9 Uenokoen, Taito City, Tokyo 110-8712, and you will find the entrance after navigating through the park.

  • Subway

    If you are farther away, take the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line from Ueno Station. Board the train at Ueno Station (G-16) towards Asakusa Station and alight at the next stop, which is 'Ueno-Okachimachi Station' (G-17). Exit the station and walk towards Ueno Park, following the signs for the Tokyo National Museum. The walk will take approximately 10-15 minutes.

    Alternatively, you can take the Toei Bus from Ueno Station. Look for the bus stop with the sign for routes heading towards 'Ueno Koen'. The bus ride will take around 5 minutes and drop you off near the entrance of Ueno Park. From there, it's a short 5-minute walk to the museum.
