Getting There

  • Walking

    From Akihabara Station, take the Electric Town Exit. Head south on Chuo Dori (Central Street) for about 10 minutes until you reach the intersection with Showa Dori. Cross the street and continue straight. You'll pass through the lively shopping streets and see various shops and eateries. After about 1 km, you will arrive at Ueno Park. The entrance to Ueno Zoological Gardens is located within Ueno Park. Look for signs directing you towards the zoo as you enter the park.

  • Train

    From Akihabara Station, take the JR Yamanote Line (green line) towards Ueno Station. The train ride takes approximately 5 minutes. Once at Ueno Station, take the Park Exit and walk towards Ueno Park. The entrance to Ueno Zoological Gardens is located within the park, just a short 10-minute walk from the station. Follow the signs to guide you to the zoo.

  • Subway

    From Akihabara Station, take the Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line (light blue line) towards Naka-Meguro. Transfer at Hibiya Station to the Tokyo Metro Chiyoda Line (green line) towards Yoyogi Uehara. Get off at Nezu Station. From Nezu Station, it’s about a 15-minute walk to Ueno Zoological Gardens. Simply head west along the main road until you reach Ueno Park, and then follow the signs to the zoo entrance.
