Car
From Zao Onsen, head northwest on Route 13. After approximately 12 kilometers, take the exit toward Yonezawa. Continue onto Route 112 and follow the signs for Yonezawa City. Once in Yonezawa, use a navigation app to find '1 Chome-4-13 Marunouchi, Yonezawa, Yamagata 992-0052'. There is parking available near the castle ruins, but be prepared for a small fee, which is typically around 500 yen.

Public Transportation
From Zao Onsen, take a local bus to Yamagata Station. This bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Once at Yamagata Station, transfer to the Shinkansen (bullet train) heading towards Yonezawa Station. The train journey will take about 15 minutes. From Yonezawa Station, you can take a taxi to '1 Chome-4-13 Marunouchi, Yonezawa, Yamagata 992-0052', which will take around 10 minutes and cost approximately 1,500 yen.

Take the local bus from Zao Onsen to Yamagata Station (30 minutes), then ride the Shinkansen to Yonezawa Station (15 minutes). After arriving at Yonezawa Station, exit and walk for about 20 minutes to reach Yonezawa Castle Ruins. Follow the signs toward Marunouchi, and you will find the castle ruins at '1 Chome-4-13 Marunouchi, Yonezawa, Yamagata 992-0052'.
