    From Zao Onsen, Shiginoyachi Marsh is a short 5-minute drive. Head southwest on Route 13 towards Kaminoyama. After a few minutes, turn right onto the road leading to the marsh. Parking is available near the entrance. Parking costs are free.

  • Public Transport

    From Yamagata Station, take the bus bound for Zao Onsen Bus Terminal. From there, it's best to take a local taxi to Shiginoyachi Marsh, which is about a 5-minute ride. The taxi fare will be approximately ¥1,000 - ¥1,500.

  • Walking

    From Zao Onsen town, the marsh is a pleasant walk of approximately 30-40 minutes. Follow the main road towards Kaminoyama, and then turn onto the road signposted for Shiginoyachi Marsh. Be aware that the walk involves some uphill sections.
