Getting There

    From Zao Onsen, head southwest on Route 286. Follow the signs for Yonezawa, and continue on Route 286 for about 30 kilometers. You will see signs for Onogawa Onsen as you approach the town of Yonezawa. Turn right onto Onogawamachi and drive for about 2 kilometers. Onogawa Onsen will be on your left at 188-1 Onogawamachi. Parking is available nearby.

    From Zao Onsen, take the Zao Onsen bus to Yamagata Station. The ride takes approximately 30 minutes. Once at Yamagata Station, transfer to the Yamagata Kotsu bus bound for Yonezawa. The bus ride to Yonezawa takes about 30 minutes. After arriving at Yonezawa Station, you can take a local bus that goes directly to Onogawa Onsen. The final bus ride will take about 20 minutes.
