If you have a car, start from the Kolsai Lakes visitor center. Drive towards the Kol'say Verkhniy, located approximately 30 kilometers from the center. Follow the signs for Kolsai Lakes and Kurmeti. The road will be a mix of paved and gravel, so drive carefully. After around 30-40 minutes, you will reach the parking area near Kol'say Verkhniy. Here, you may need to pay a small parking fee, typically around 500 KZT.

To reach Kol'say Verkhniy via public transportation, take a marshrutka (minibus) from the nearest town, Saty, which is about 30 minutes away from Kolsai Lakes. Marshrutkas leave regularly throughout the day. Once you arrive at the marshrutka station in Saty, catch a taxi or a local bus that heads towards Kol'say Lakes. The fare is usually around 1000 KZT for the taxi. Inform the driver you want to go to Kol'say Verkhniy, and they will drop you off close to the entrance.

For the adventurous, if you're already within the Kolsai Lakes area, you can hike to Kol'say Verkhniy from the lower lakes. The trail starts from Kolsai Lake 1 and leads uphill to Kol'say Verkhniy.
