From either Urnäsch or Nesslau, take the PostBus (PostAuto) directly to Schwägalp. The bus ride offers scenic views of the Appenzell and Toggenburg regions. From Urnäsch, the bus travels past traditional Appenzell farms, while from Nesslau, the route offers views of the Säntis massif. The PostBus runs regularly, with increased frequency during summer weekends. A single fare from either Urnäsch or Nesslau to Schwägalp typically costs around CHF 5-10. Driving
Schwägalp is accessible by well-maintained roads year-round. From either Nesslau or Urnäsch, follow the signs to Schwägalp. The road has a maximum grade of 12%. There are plenty of free parking spaces available at the Säntisbahn valley station. Alternatively, a parking space for campervans costs CHF 20 per night. Two electric vehicle charging stations are available in the outdoor area of the parking garage at 'Säntis - das Hotel'. Charging is available via Evpass, SBB Swisspass, or Intercharge.
