In 1905, Hotelier Georg Hauber acquired the Gasthaus zum Anker, transforming it into a health spa. By 1910, it had become a hotel, and in 1917, Emperor Karl I visited with his wife Zita, reportedly declaring it "the most beautiful beach in Austria". The Seehotel am Kaiserstrand, a striking listed building, stands as a testament to this history, having been carefully renovated into an elegant lakeside retreat. Today, visitors can enjoy a variety of activities, from sunbathing and leisurely strolls along scenic pathways to engaging in water sports. From 1953 to 1997, it was an Austrian army barracks known as Rhomberg Kaserne. Reopened as a hotel in 2010, it continues to welcome guests with its blend of historic architecture and modern amenities.
