From Vaduz, walk to the nearest bus stop, which is the 'Vaduz, Post' stop located on Städtle street. Take the bus number 21 towards 'Appenzell'. The journey will take approximately 1 hour. Make sure to check the bus schedule in advance as buses may not run frequently. You will arrive at 'Appenzell, Bahnhof'. From there, it's a short walk to the town center where you can explore Appenzell.
Train and Bus
Walk to the Vaduz train station, located at 'Bahnhofstraße 1'. Take a train to Sargans, which usually departs every hour. Upon arriving in Sargans, transfer to a local bus heading to Appenzell. Look for the bus stop near the train station. This option will take around 1.5 to 2 hours depending on the connection times.
Bicycle
If you enjoy cycling, rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in Vaduz. Head out of Vaduz toward the main road that leads to Appenzell. Follow the signs towards Appenzell, which is about a 25 km ride. The route will take you through beautiful landscapes, but be prepared for some uphill sections.
