Car
The most direct way to reach Obersee is by car. From Näfels, follow the signs west to Oberseetal or Obersee. The road is a narrow, winding one-lane road that ascends approximately 7km to the lake. Parking is free in the dirt lot next to the Berghotel Obersee at the east end of the lake. Be aware that on busy days, the road may be closed if parking is full; in that case, parking is available in Näfels, and you can hike up to the lake (approximately 4 km with a 525m elevation gain). Cost: Free parking.
Walking
For a more challenging approach, you can hike from Näfels to Obersee. The hike takes approximately 2.5 hours. From the Näfels-Mollis train station, follow the signs towards Obersee. The trail ascends through woodlands and pastures, offering scenic views. Cost: Free.
