Getting There

• Walking

  From the center of Remich, start at the main square, Place du Marché. Head northeast on Rue de la Liberté towards Rue de l'Église. Continue straight until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Rue de la Moselle. Walk along this road until you reach the bridge over the Moselle River. Cross the bridge and continue straight on the D654 road. After about 1.5 kilometers, follow the signs to Metz. Once you arrive in Metz, head towards the city center. The German Gate (Porte Allemande) is located on Boulevard André Maginot. Look for the large stone archway; it should be ahead on your left.

• Public Transport - Bus

  From Remich, make your way to the bus stop located at Place du Marché. Take the bus number 222 towards Metz. The journey will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Get off at the Metz main bus station (Gare routière de Metz). From the bus station, exit and head southeast on Rue des Jardins towards Rue de la République. Continue straight until you reach the Place de la République. From there, follow the signs towards the German Gate located on Boulevard André Maginot, which is a short 10-minute walk from the square.

• Bicycle

  If you have access to a bicycle, start from the center of Remich at Place du Marché. Cycle northeast on Rue de la Liberté, then take the path along the Moselle River towards the D654 road. Follow the D654, which leads directly towards Metz. The ride is approximately 5 kilometers and should take around 20-30 minutes. Once in Metz, head towards Boulevard André Maginot where you will find the German Gate. Look for the large archway as your landmark.
