If you are driving, head towards Bar Harbor, ME. From any location in Washington County, take Route 1 North. Once you reach Ellsworth, take Route 3 towards Bar Harbor. Continue on Route 3 until you reach the entrance to Acadia National Park. There is an entrance fee for the park, which is approximately $30 per vehicle for a 7-day pass. After entering the park, follow the road signs towards Thunder Hole, which is located along the Park Loop Road. Look for parking areas designated for Thunder Hole, as they can fill up quickly during peak tourist seasons.
Public Transportation
If you prefer public transportation, check for local bus services that operate from towns in Washington County to Bar Harbor. The Downeast Transportation operates a bus service, but be sure to check their schedule for times. Once you arrive in Bar Harbor, you can either walk or take a taxi to Acadia National Park.
