Getting There

    From Mangochi town center, head east on the main road towards the Liwonde area. Follow the signs to Liwonde National Park. After about 15 km, you will reach the junction leading to the Park. Turn left at the junction onto the road that leads directly to the Liwonde Main Entrance Gate. Continue straight for another 5 km until you see the entrance on your right.

  • Walking

    Starting from the Mangochi market, head south towards the main road. Once you reach the main road, turn right and walk towards the Liwonde area. It's a long walk of approximately 20 km, so be prepared with water and snacks. After walking for about 3 hours, you'll reach the junction to Liwonde National Park. Turn left and walk another 5 km to reach the Main Entrance Gate.

  • Public Transport (Minibus)

    From Mangochi, head to the minibus station located near the market. Look for a minibus heading towards Liwonde. The fare is usually low, about 500 MWK. The journey takes around 30 minutes. Inform the driver that you want to get off at the Liwonde National Park entrance. Once you arrive, walk about 1 km to reach the Main Entrance Gate.
