Car
From Mzuzu, head south on the M1 road towards Karonga. After approximately 90 km, you will reach the town of Chitipa. Continue past Chitipa and follow the signs towards the border crossing at Lumbadzi. After crossing into Mozambique, keep heading towards Aldeia Mala, where Nkwichi Lodge is located. The lodge is situated approximately 20 km from the border. Expect to pay a small border crossing fee when entering Mozambique.

Public Transportation
From Mzuzu, take a minibus to Karonga. From Karonga, you can catch another minibus heading towards Chitipa. Upon reaching Chitipa, look for a taxi or a local guide who can take you to the border crossing at Lumbadzi. After crossing into Mozambique, you can hire a local taxi or arrange for a ride to Aldeia Mala, which is about 20 km from the border. Be prepared to pay for the taxi fare, and also ensure you have cash for any border fees.

If you prefer a scenic route, consider taking a boat from the nearby town of Nkhata Bay to the shores near Aldeia Mala. This option may require some coordination, so it’s best to inquire locally in Nkhata Bay about available boat services to Nkwichi Lodge.
