Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving, start from Nkhotakota Town. Head east on the M5 road towards Salima. After about 30 km, look for signs directing you to Lozi. Turn left onto the road leading to Lozi. Continue for approximately 15 km until you see the sign for Rafiki Safari Camp, located near the banks of the lake. Make sure to have a GPS or map app handy as the roads can be less marked.

  • Public Transportation

    From Nkhotakota Town, take a minibus heading towards Salima. Inform the driver that you wish to get off at the turnoff for Lozi (this is usually a common stop for travelers). The fare should be around 1,000 MWK. Once you get off, walk approximately 15 km towards the camp. Alternatively, you can arrange for a local motorbike taxi (known as 'boda-boda') for about 2,000 MWK to take you directly to Rafiki Safari Camp.

    If you prefer a faster option after reaching the turnoff from Nkhotakota, you can hire a motorbike taxi to take you directly to Rafiki Safari Camp. The ride should cost around 2,000 MWK and will take approximately 20 minutes, depending on road conditions.
