Merge onto MD-190 W (River Road) and continue for about 8 miles. Look for signs for the C&O Canal National Historical Park. There is parking available near Lock 16, and be sure to check if there are any parking fees, which may vary by location.

To reach C&O Canal Lock 16 via public transportation, take the Metro to the Grosvenor-Strathmore station on the Red Line. From there, you can catch the Ride On bus #47 toward Rockville. Get off at the 'River Road & Falls Road' stop. From the bus stop, it's about a 1.5-mile walk to Lock 16 along the towpath. Follow the path that leads directly to the canal.

For those who prefer biking, you can rent a bike at one of the nearby rental shops in Potomac. Once you have your bike, head toward the C&O Canal Towpath.
